Lovely tasty Eggs Benedict with gorgeous black pudding. Avocado on sour bread toast tastes and served really well, coffee good. Staff very helpful. Delightful. Thanks.
I’m a little surprised this industrial-chic brunch venue doesn’t have more reviews and more hurrah. I mean on Zomato, there’s lots of good vibes on Tripadvisor, Facebook and Google. Our group of friends enjoyed our visit here a lot. The Wilson Street Pantry formed our first meal in the area and it reassured us we were going to be in a foodie part of town. The cafe was plenty busy on our Saturday morning that’s for sure. It was originally opened in 2014 by a husband and wife team, designed for customers looking for a hideout from the rain. The rains are still here. And the cafe is still going strong three years later, likely off the back off friendly service, solid food and some tasty coffee (from Papercup).
The menu is a bit more basic than what I was anticipating, but the end result was above expectations. See above for the bacon and eggs on toast execution that my friends shared. I had the below chocolate and oreos French Toast with mascarpone. I should highlight the mascarpone is a very excellent choice. It doesn’t melt away like cream can and it feels much more richer on the dish. And this is a proper French Toast. Over the last year or so of brunching, I’ve had so many variations of French toast (i.e. with flowers, with coconut bread, with brioche) that it’s refreshing to have a “normal” one. Soft eggy, creamy, bread. Our server was also top notch, gave us some bonus travel advice and was lovely along the way. These little moments make dining out all the more worthwhile.
I popped in for a quick takeaway lunch. Ingredients were fresh ad tasty. It's not a huge place as so fills up quickly st meal time. But it's got a good vibe, trendy feel and quality food.
